PAST and present members of Brecknock YFC got together to celebrate the organisation’s 80th anniversary earlier this month.
The anniversary dinner was held on Friday, May 12, in the Clwyd Glamorgan Hall, on the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells.
The evening was attended by present and past members, officers, friends and families. Everyone was welcomed to the evening by the county president Gethin Havard, followed by an opening speech from Evan Morgan. Grace was given by the deputy president Rob Healey and the guest speaker for the evening was Brian Jones, of Castell Howell Foods.
Following the meal an auction was carried out by Tom Pritchard, an Ystradfellte member and McCartneys auctioneer, in aid of the two charities that county chair Leanne Davies has chosen to support this year; the DPJ Foundation and the Wales Air Ambulance.
The two worthy charities have assisted numerous people in the rural areas and communities which need continuous support to ensure they remain operational for years to come. A huge thank you goes to everyone that supported and donated items for both the auction and the raffle. Fantastic support was given and the auction raised a tremendous £3,945.
A great thank you goes to Golden Valley Catering for providing the food, Neil Morris Behind Bars for providing the bar, ASAP for providing the entertainment, Tom for conducting the auction, county staff, officers and their families for decorating and organising, Emmie Jones Photography, Sophie Jones Truly Scrumptious for the cake and of course everyone for attending.
It was great to get the county together to share memories, to celebrate and to mark the occasion.
