A north Wales auctioneer has retired after 47 years with Dolgellau-based Farmers Marts.
Glyn Jarrett has served as the cornerstone of its operations as the main auctioneer for cattle and the selling of fat sheep at Machynlleth and Dolgellau.
But his contributions extended beyond his role in cattle sales; he has also been instrumental in leading successful auctions for farm machinery and tools, as well as furniture and antiques.
In a letter paying tribute to his service chief executive Hywel Evans said: "His tireless
efforts have not only bolstered the reputation of Farmers Marts but have also elevated the stature of
the Dolgellau cattle sales to a level of prominence that is recognised far and wide within the industry.
"It is no exaggeration to say that Glyn's influence and respect within the agricultural community are
unparalleled. His professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for our customers have left an
permanent mark on all those who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
"As we bid farewell to Glyn, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for his many years of dedicated service and the unwavering loyalty he has shown to Farmers Marts. His contributions have played an integral role in shaping the success and reputation of our company, and for that, we are truly thankful.
Glyn graced the rostrum at Dolgellau for his final cattle sale on Friday, May 3, before his
official retirement, when many of Glyn's close friends and customers attended
to extend their well-wishes and express their gratitude for his generosity and outstanding service over the years.
