ORGANIC dairy co-operative Calon Wen, which was a shareholder in Proper Welsh, assured that it is ‘very much business as usual’ for them.
“Our members are extremely proud of the involvement we have had in the creation of Proper Welsh,” said company spokesman Owen Lort- Phillips. “It has ensured that Welsh milk is processed and sold here in Wales, and we know from the strength of the Proper Welsh order book that customers love that too.
“It is testimony to the strength of the Proper Welsh concept that an experienced and successful company like Dairy Crest has come in.
“We are pleased to say Dairy Crest will be honouring current service agreements, and Calon Wen’s contract to have our members’ organic milk processed in Whitland will continue for the foreseeable future.”
