Messrs Morgan Evans and Co report a flying trade in the annual February Prize Sale at Gaerwen Auction Centre, Anglesey.
There was an entry of 318 store cattle, 20 OTMs and four cows and calves with flying trade on the store cattle to kick off the season with a keen demand throughout. Plenty of buyers present resulting in an excellent trade topping at £1,580.
Top price in both the steers and heifers section went to W P & O Evans, Bodwrdin, the 21-month British blue steer selling to £1,580 and a 20-month-old Limousin heifer to £1,380.
OTMs met a brisk trade with best cows selling to 180ppk (£1,519) with cows and calves selling to a solid trade.
